Five Things

FIVE STORIES FROM AROUND THE WEB THAT MADE US THINK "GIRL POWER" THIS WEEK

With the current presidential race in full swing after the conventions, I sometimes feel a little down with everything that is said on a daily basis, about women, hispanics, and lately, even babies. However, in the past couple of weeks there have been small victories for the ladies and they should be celebrated. What a better way to kick off this series than with a little bit of girl power? Yaaas queen!

1. Michelle Obama's speech at the 2016 DNC - One of the most electrifying moments of the entire convention, I can't get over it.

3. Model Ashley Graham, a body activist, talks about her body shamers on social media

4. #‎ThisIsWhatMyRevolutionLooksLike‬ - "Revolution" has been one of the key words during this presidential race (also, tremendous), this campaign proves that maybe we're not all looking for the same revolution in 2017.

5. I recently watched Ghostbusters. This all-female remake has certainly brought up a lot of emotions for fans of the original, as well as some pretty sexist remarks. It's difficult to imagine that a group of hilarious, talented women would pose a problem but this is a major win for the ladies. Definitely go see it if you haven't yet.

*Special mention to President Barack Obama's essay in Glamour magazine this week.
